Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern for Computer Engineering (FPGA development). In this role, you will write, simulate, and test RTL code (VHDL/Verilog) on an FPGA. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of FPGA languages (VHDL/Verilog), FPGA tools (AMD Vivado, Altera Quartus, Siemens Questasim) and general digital logic design principles.
Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:-Pursuing a degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer science.
-Basic FPGA architecture and design, with applied knowledge of either the AMD or Altera FPGA devices and their associated application environments.
-Possess basic technical expertise to apply discretion and judgment to complete assignments of simple scope and complexity, using current technology such as FPGAs, Microprocessors, DSPs, and Interface Controllers.

Desired Skills:-Any knowledge of digital signal processing functions, specific to radar and electronic warfare capabilities, including digital receivers and exciters.
-Basic VHDL firmware programming capability, and having applied that knowledge on an FPGA device (AMD, Intel). Having utilized AMD Vivado or Altera Quartus development platforms to successfully build and test an executable hardware implementation of code which they have written. Use of the Siemens Questa HDL simulator, including UVM verification techniques.
-Experience with MATLAB modeling is a plus. Higher level code development, including Nvidia CUDA, OpenCL, Simulink HDL Coder, and AMD Model Composer are also a plus.
-Digital board design of mixed signal boards to support FPGAs

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $55,806 - $64,168 . For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
