Job Description
LinkedIn is seeking a Principal Program Manager to join our R&D Regulatory Compliance team. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead cross-functional programs that ensure our product development aligns with global regulations and our values of responsible innovation. You’ll drive strategy and execution across areas like AI, privacy, and data strategy—partnering with Engineering, Product, Legal, and Trust teams to build scalable compliance frameworks and governance models.

Responsibilities:
Lead Strategic Compliance Programs
- Drive end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional companywide compliance programs.
- Define deliverables, timelines, and owners; track progress through dashboards and KPIs.
- Lead and facilitate business and operating reviews with senior leaders.
- Frame up and lead complex decisions and trade-offs.
Enable Regulatory Strategy
- Translate global regulatory developments into actionable strategies for product and engineering teams.
- Align compliance strategy with LinkedIn’s innovation roadmap (AI, Trust, Security, Privacy).
- Develop governance frameworks including risk assessments, controls, and reporting mechanisms across different functional teams.
- Analytical and truth seeking. Ability to understand sophisticated concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
Drive Operational Excellence
- Design and scale operating models to improve decision-making and transparency.
- Lead cross-functional working groups; remove blockers and accelerate execution.
- Establish coordination and accountability mechanisms across teams.
- Mentor peers and promote a culture of operational excellence and risk-awareness.
- Influence senior leaders, empower, build strategic relationships and align people across a broad variety of job functions through relationships.
- Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in program management
- Experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, privacy or risk functions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the technology industry.
- Familiarity with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, DSA, AI Act).
- Experience leading cross-functional programs involving Legal, R&D, Policy, and Operations.
- Experience in budget planning, headcount resourcing, or business operations.
- Background in strategic consulting, product operations, or business management.
- Advanced degree (MBA, JD) or certifications (CIPP, CIPM, CRCM).
- Proven success leading cross-functional programs involving Legal, R&D, Policy, and Operations.
- Strong operational skills: roadmap management, goal tracking, stakeholder reporting.
- Ability to turn complex regulatory guidance into actionable initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills; confident engaging executive and technical audiences.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $194,000 - $318,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
