What does a successful Director of Software Development do?

Your role will involve strategic planning, project management, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software applications.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage a team of developers, providing direction and guidance to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software applications that align with Fiserv's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
What you will need to have:
- 15+ years of experience in software development and programming.
- 8+ years of experience leading teams.
- 5+ years of experience in Java, C, C#, C++, or similar programming languages.
- 5+ years of experience in SQL databases.
- 4+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
- 4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- 4+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
- 15+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.

Important information about this role:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
