This position will serve as a systems engineer on Hornet. Hornet is a ground system program in the early development phase.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of ground system architectures and components
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to learn and contribute to system development and integration
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including system design documents and test plans
- Participate in system testing and validation, including identifying and troubleshooting issues
- Support system deployment and maintenance, including providing technical support to operations teams
- Apply systems engineering principles and methodologies to ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and maintainability requirements
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in ground systems, and apply this knowledge to improve system design and performance
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- Strong academic record, with a solid foundation in math, science, and engineering principles
- Familiarity with systems engineering concepts and principles, including system design, development, and testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- US Citizenship Required
Desired Skills:- Coursework or academic projects in systems engineering, computer systems, or software development
- Familiarity with any programming languages, such as Python, C++, or Java
- Experience with systems engineering tools and methodologies, such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Agile development
- Participation in academic or extracurricular projects that demonstrate engineering skills and knowledge
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $57,500 - $101,430. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
