Job Overview
The Medicaid Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be responsible for supporting the delivery of contracts and subcontracts as assigned by management. This position will support “billable” contract work and will also be required to support growth functions within the company, primarily focusing on projects where expertise of Medicaid is required. The Medicaid SME must be extremely knowledgeable of Center for Medicaid and Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Services (CMCS) processes, operations, and policies. They must be able to take this information and apply it to existing and future projects, guiding teams’ ability to effectively communicate and build systems for CMCS.
Responsibilities
- Comprehend Statements Of Work in order to support the development of solutions to meet the scope
- Establish and maintain client relationships, independently of Index leadership
- Lead the facilitation of Government customer meetings to demonstrate comprehension of Medicaid policy and processes and generate innovative and efficient solutions.
- Work closely with stakeholders utilizing expertise to advise and drive the design of project and business development solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, supporting engineering solutions and advising on requirements
- Participate in development activities including networking events, partnership meetings, and writing proposals
- Provide historical and institutional knowledge, necessary to guide software development activities
- US citizen, or lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years
- Possess more than 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years of direct experience with CMCS policy and operations.
- Previous CMCS experience required
- Must have experience working with Medicaid and CHIP data
- Experience providing requirements and working with software development teams preferred.
- Education - Bachelor’s Degree (4 years Government or Government contracting may substitute)
- Security Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust level clearance
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Ability to multi-task and perform business development and implementation work simultaneously
