Position Summary
The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying paint and protective coatings to various surfaces in industrial settings, ensuring high-quality finishes and compliance with safety standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments.
Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare surfaces by removing old coatings, applying primers, and ensuring surfaces are free of contaminants.
- Paint Application: Apply paints, varnishes, and coatings using spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
- Mixing and Matching: Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors and finishes per specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure compliance with industry standards and make adjustments as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, and safety checks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in painting techniques and familiarity with tools such as airbrushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to deliver high-quality finishes and meet specifications.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of working in high places, confined spaces, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the painting process.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in industrial painting preferred.
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Ability to work in environments with moderate to heavy noise levels and exposure to chemicals.
Work Environment
- Industrial settings, including confined spaces and elevated work areas.
- Must comply with all ABM safety, security, and compliance standards.
