Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) / Certification Engineer

About the Role
HEICO is seeking an experienced ODA/Certification Engineer to join our dynamic team in Hollywood, FL. In this role, you’ll be a technical leader, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety across new product development and continued operational safety programs. You’ll also serve as a mentor to engineers and quality professionals, guiding projects that keep aircraft components safe, reliable, and FAA-compliant.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical oversight of ODA projects, ensuring FAA compliance across PNLs, substantiation packages, conformity inspections, and design changes.
- Guide engineering and quality teams on ODA procedures, FAA regulations, and PMA activities.
- Support product investigations through forensic analysis, technical reporting, and presentations to customers and regulators.
- Ensure technical adequacy of designs for aircraft engines, interiors, and mechanical systems.
- Contribute expertise in aerospace manufacturing methods and materials to strengthen product reliability and compliance.
What You Bring
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
- Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred)
- Experience:
- 10+ years in aerospace product realization (design, substantiation, quality planning, first article inspections).
- Strong knowledge of aircraft turbine engine components, interiors, and controls.
- Proficiency in aerospace materials, and manufacturing methods.
- Skills & Expertise:
- Deep understanding of FAA regulations, orders, and directives.
- Demonstrated competency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5M).
- Strong analytical, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced environment.
