What does a successful Senior DevOps Engineer do?
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Fiserv, you will execute a strategic vision for DevOps through automation, making significant contributions to the design, deployment, support, and operation of our DevOps solutions. Your expertise will drive the evolution of technology to support the dynamic needs of our clients, ensuring an efficient, reliable, and secure build and deployment process. This role is integral to our mission of enabling development teams to frequently deliver high-confidence financial software systems.
What you will do:
- Lead the modernization of DevOps through CI/CD automation.
- Define and implement best practices, processes, and standards for effective DevOps across a multi-team development organization.
- Design and implement continuous deployment to a scalable and reliable cloud architecture, delivering a Software As A Service operating model.
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines with Infrastructure as Code, Configuration Management, and centralized orchestration.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure exceptional client experience.
- Establish system quality, reliability, performance, and security through proactive engineering measures.
- Promote and cultivate a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering/DevOps.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with tools such as:
- Source Control – Team Foundation Server (TFS), GitHub, GitLab.
- Artifact Repositories – Artifactory, Nexus.
- Infrastructure as Code – Terraform Enterprise.
- Configuration Management – Ansible.
- CI/CD Orchestration Tools – Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Harness.
- Automated Functional Testing – Selenium, HP Unified Functional Testing.
- Automated Performance Testing – LoadRunner, JMeter.
- Security Analysis – Fortify, Webinspect, Sonatype Lifecycle.
- Quality Analysis – SonarQube.
- Containerization – Docker, Kubernetes.
- Cloud Computing – Azure.
- Experience designing and building automated CI/CD pipeline solutions.
- Expert understanding of DevOps best practices in support of CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Firm grasp of common deployment strategies (blue/green, zero-downtime deployment, traffic shaping, canary, rollback).
- Strong understanding of computing, networks, firewall, security, and authentication principles.
- Practical experience with Agile framework and Scrum methodology for software engineering.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience and/or military experience.

- Demonstrated ability to apply Agile/Scrum methodologies in DevOps operations.
