About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant in Finance Risk as part of Corporate Risk. This position will work in Financial Risk Management on the Risk Weighted Assets Oversight team supporting a portfolio of Wholesale, Securitization and Equity exposures to ensure the bank's compliance with the Basel regulatory capital rules.
This highly visible position will work with varied exposure data providers, corporate controllers, Basel workstream first line oversight, and other corporate oversight areas to provide guidance and oversight for the data flow to the relevant regulatory reports, to understand and explain the relevant portfolios and the risk-weighted assets they represent, and to work with others who provide analyses and reporting on the portfolio and ensure appropriate governance of the covered activities and documentation of compliance with the regulatory requirements
In this role, you will (responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to):- Lead independent verification of capital calculations to ensure alignment with first-line regulatory reporting results.
- Review quarterly capital adjustments, validate supporting documentation, and confirm completeness for RWA Oversight Committee (RWAOC) approval.
- Provide oversight for capital-impacting projects and new business initiatives, including rule interpretation, data sourcing, and governance compliance.
- Execute Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities on quarterly data submissions for compliance with the Basel Rules and ensuring adherence to the Governance & Oversight Framework and Regulatory Capital Qualification Policy.
- Perform business and data analytics to identify wholesale portfolio trends, support earnings release estimates, and detect issues requiring remediation.
- Conduct targeted, risk-based testing and assessments to ensure compliance with RWA regulatory capital rules.
- Foster strong partnerships across teams, including Regulatory Basel Reporting, Controllers, Regulatory Interpretative Team, Wholesale Lines of Business, and Internal Audit.
- Develop subject matter expertise in regulatory capital rules related to credit risk, wholesale exposures, securitization, equity Basel rules, and capital reporting requirements.
- Gain deep understanding of systems of record and data warehouses supporting wholesale exposure submissions.
- Identify and manage changes to Advanced Systems, ensuring accountability and governance alignment under the Target Operating Model.
- Collaborate with business lines, operations, and governance teams to meet oversight deadlines, maintain long-term project momentum, and ensure accurate stakeholder communication and documentation.
- Facilitate RWAOC reviews in coordination with business lines, Regulatory Interpretative Team, and project teams.
- Advise business lines on new deals and initiatives to ensure proper capital treatment and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Over 2 years of hands-on experience in accounting and general ledger functions related to credit products.
- Proficient in data management and reporting tools, with 2+ years of experience using SAS, SQL, or similar technologies.
- More than 3 years of experience in wholesale credit operations.
- 3+ years of demonstrated expertise in risk management and regulatory compliance.
- 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and report on complex issues.
- Capable of making timely, independent decisions while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Committed to integrity and professionalism in interactions across all organizational levels.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$119,000.00 - $206,000.00
