As a Design Engineer working in Athens, GA for the Small Track-Type Tractor (STTT) design team, you will become intimately familiar with the design of the STTT product, provide support to the STTT assembly line and welded fabrication line, assist other STTT engineers with projects of various complexity, and complete current product design/drawing projects. You will play a very important role in the implementation of new products and improvements to current product.
Primary Job Duties:
Daily monitoring of Athens STTT assembly line and welded fabrication line. Must be available to provide "front line" assistance to help resolve any product problem on the assembly line.
Creating new designs and resolving issues regarding the manufacturing or building sequences. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
Planning and improving engineering procedures and operations to make the product or process more reliable, efficient and cost-effective.
Collaborating with all functional areas, (marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, quality) to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer and dealer network.
What you will have:
Requires a degree from an accredited Engineering curriculum.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Provides effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
Designs components consisting of welded fabrications and sheet metal.
Releases production drawings using CREO and Teamcenter (or equivalent).
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Knowledge of design for manufacturability guidelines, methodologies, and use cases; ability to use this knowledge to optimize product designs and manufacturing operations.
Follows standard guidelines and best practices while carrying out DFM procedures.
Implements DFM methodologies to standardize product designs, simplify operations, and reduce costs for certain types of manufacturing processes.
Utilizes basic DFM tools and technologies to implement DFM methodologies.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.
Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.
Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of technical problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.
Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.
Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
