About E&ES:
Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Job Summary:
The Electrification and Energy Solution (E+ES) Division is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to support the development of Caterpillar Advanced Power conversion systems. In this role, you will serve as an experienced technical leader on complex and exciting advanced power products including megawatt class off-board DC chargers and Bidirectional Power Converters for energy storage system. This person will be responsible for the mechanical design and performance of the above power conversion systems from development through production. This role will also collaborate with cooling, structural, manufacturing, and reliability team along with purchasing and validation teams.
What You Will Do:
Lead the global design team and collaborate with cooling and structural team for the design and release power conversion components and systems for Caterpillar power conversion products
Meet time, cost, and quality targets
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize the product design for production
Collaborate with suppliers to develop and/or purchase components for use within the power conversion product line
Mentor and train new engineers on mechanical or design processes/procedures for power conversion products development
What You Will Have:

Technical Excellence: Extensive experience and knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Experience with design and development of mechanical system (cooling, packaging and structural) of power generation system including e.g. generator sets, inverters, DC/DC converters, etc.
Project Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Basic understanding and knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Product Testing: Expert knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive experience and knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Degree Requirement:
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Caterpillar NPI process working knowledge
Cooling design or application experience
Mechanical packaging (sheet metal) and structural analysis application knowledge Proficiency with IGBT assembly and power converter system design, releasing and manufacturing
Relevant industry or academic experience with focus on power electronics
Experience working with suppliers and purchasing to introduce a new product to market.
Additional Information:
This position is located in Mossville, IL and requires 5 day a week in office availability
This position does offer domestic relocation
This position does not offer Visa Sponsorship
Travel is expected less than 20%

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
