Description:Maintain certifications for flight safety and QA_PR.
Work from and follow engineering drawings, specifications, broad instructions and pertinent data, and proper work methods, use of equipment, safety rules, and quality standards.
Check work methods and results for conformance to standards.
Report to lead and/or supervisor on work progress, including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
Work of group includes performing all inspection operations required to lay-out and inspect purchased aircraft materials, including machined parts, forgings, castings, gears, assemblies, raw materials, etc.
Responsibilities include the review of complex drawings and specifications.
As required, check incoming parts and materials for compliance to drawings, standards, purchase orders and specifications.
Use all provided inspection gages, tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
Lay-out and make all required mathematical computations necessary to check dimensions.
Make exacting dimensional checks including length, width, location, depth, hole size, height, spacing, concentricity, pitch, diameter, clearances, alignment, parallelism, compound angles, interrelated dimensions, etc.
Visually inspect parts for surface irregularities and check for proper material, hardness, process, finish, contours, welding, brazing, identification marking, etc.
Coordinate with Engineering and other affected departments to ascertain specified quality and acceptability of parts and materials.
Perform required inspections in the certification process of unqualified parts.
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI).
Work with customers, internal customers and suppliers as necessary, concerning quality standards and status of parts and materials.
Sample and test fuel, verify tags, seals, and numbers during fuel inspection and complete all necessary paperwork and forms.
Review rejection reports for proper description of irregularity and correctness of information.
Prepare all required inspection reports and paperwork.
Perform duties in other departments as required.
Perform other related duties.
Perform operator checklist as required.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of equipment by performing operator required upkeep.
Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
Refer only unusual conditions to Working Leader or supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:Requires a broad shop trade knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, together with the ability to interpret specifications and complex drawings and use of available precision measuring instruments.
Also requires thorough knowledge of machining tools and methods, metal processes and aircraft materials. Also requires broad knowledge of inspection methods and procedures.
Requires 4 years high school plus 4 years of technical training. Must maintain current certification(s) as required.
Light physical effort required to intermittently handle parts of various weights; heavy machined parts, castings, forgings, etc., handled by use of hoist.
4 - 5 years of experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
