The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Systems Engineer – Integration, Verification & Validation (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will support the Space Launch System (SLS) program providing a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo to our moon and beyond into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions.
As a member of the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team, the individual in this role will lead efforts in the development and verification of requirements for the SLS vehicle. Effective coordination and collaboration with Boeing team members and NASA customers are essential skills that require technical problem-solving, thorough analysis, and a deep understanding to translate requirements into system, hardware, and software design specifications, as well as interface control documents. This position requires an individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, is comfortable interacting with diverse cultures, and has a passion for space exploration. As system engineers, the goal is to apply common products, processes and tools across subsystems in pursuit of programmatic objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead planning and execution of system requirements integration and verification across multiple projects
Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers and customers to qualify components from specifications generation to functional configuration audit (FCA) / physical configuration audit (PCA)
Define and validate system performance requirements ensuring compatibility across all interfaces
Manage requirements, risks issues opportunities and technology readiness assessments
Participate in Interface Control Working Groups and lead cross interface issue resolution
Act as a technical expert resolving critical cross-functional issues and representing the team in leadership discussions
Lead development and maintenance of requirements and model-based systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS CAMEO) ensuring traceability
Oversee compliance verification activities and manage reporting to customers and regulators
Lead review and coordination of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) from identification to implementation
Direct key system engineering reviews (e.g. Technical Design Reviews) ensuring all criteria are met
Drive continuous improvement in systems engineering processes and mentor junior engineers
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
3+ years of experience with systems engineering requirement development and verification lifecycle
3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience with systems engineering requirement development and verification lifecycle
5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive experience interpreting and leading validation and verification of complex subsystem requirements
Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS), including importing Customer documents and generation of specification changes
Proficiency with model-based systems engineering tools (e.g. CAMEO) with the ability to develop functional analysis and verification logic
Proven ability to lead collaboration with customers program offices and interdisciplinary teams to drive technical solutions and program success
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and facilitating cross-functional discussions
Strong knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g. CREO) with ability to guide design reviews and integrate engineering data
Working knowledge of configuration management (CM) software (e.g. Windchill) processes with ability to guide design reviews and integrate engineering data
Proficient in MS365 Power BI and other data analysis and reporting tools to support decision-making and program metrics
A working knowledge of avionics, electrical, or propulsion subsystems used in rockets

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $97,750.00 - $132,250.00
Summary pay range for Senior: $119,850.00 - $162,150.00
