Job Summary
As a Digital Product Owner, you’ll join our Product Management team delivering Caterpillar GenAI solutions and be responsible for requirements gathering, requirements grooming and prioritizing the product backlog. You’ll work with research and data analysis to identify opportunities where application of AI/GenAI to business scenarios will improve Cat Digital offering to dealers, Cat customers and Cat employees. You’ll closely collaborate with Digital Product Management product partners, to evaluate AI use cases, their impact to our business and our dealers and customers.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and designers, to define and prioritize product features and requirements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organized and reflects the product vision and goals.
- Gather user feedback to inform product decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure the successful delivery of product increments.
- Create and maintain detailed product documentation, including features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release notes.
- Support the Product Owner in managing stakeholder expectations and communicating product progress and updates.
- Assist in the development of product roadmaps and timelines, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Monitor and analyze product performance metrics to identify trends and areas for optimization.
What You Will Have:
- Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Software Problem Management: Knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience designing or supporting the roadmap for an AI product which can include an educational program or internship
- Understanding of AI technologies and concepts.
- Ability to act as a liaison between business and technical teams
- Assist with supporting or organizing the product backlog
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in using product management tools such as Aha!, Azure Dev Ops or similar is preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform product decisions.
Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $155,400.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
