What You'll Be Doing
- Lead daily shipping operations for aggregate materials, coordinating with the Marine Department and cartage drivers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of sand, gravel, stone, or other bulk products.
- Collaborate with production and logistics teams to optimize load schedules, truck dispatching, and barge movements based on material availability and customer demand.
- Monitor inventory levels of aggregate stockpiles and ensure shipping documentation complies with DOT, MSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction across all outbound logistics.
- Train and support team members—including scale house operators and yard personnel—to meet performance, safety, and quality standards in aggregate handling and transport.
What Are We Looking For
- Prior experience in aggregate, mining, or bulk material logistics preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide a team in a dynamic, outdoor industrial setting.
- Proven ability to manage complex logistics and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence in aggregate shipping and compliance.
- Proficiency with shipping systems, scale software, and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel, dispatch platforms).
- Ability to collaborate across departments—production, maintenance, sales—and adapt to changing priorities and weather conditions.
Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing and shipping environment with exposure to outdoor conditions, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures. Safety gear and adherence to safety protocols are required.
