What does a Successful Application Architect Do? 
The eMAXS Senior Application Architect (m/f/d) is co-responsible for our in-house developed application APS. APS (Acquiring Processing System) is the backend core of our self-developed eMAXS (electronic Merchant Acquiring Extended Solution) platform.
What you will do.
- Software design of complex components in the functional environment of our acquiring processing backend system eMAXS.
- Creation of IT concepts in cooperation with business analysts and other IT departments
- Creation of detailed designs as programming specifications for offshore developers
- Guiding offshore developers and managing development tasks
- Troubleshooting COBOL programs on the mainframe
- Supporting the design of the data model
- Analysis and review of business concepts
- Provide effort estimates for projects
- Create short-term evaluations or reports using SQL
- Close cooperation with internal customers and IT architects.
- Participation in on-call duty
What you will need to have.
- Successful studies in computer science, business informatics, mathematics, or comparable certificate
- Excellent knowledge of application design and software development methods
- At least 5 years of experience in software development
- Confident handling of tools on the mainframe (IBM z/OS)
- Practical experience in COBOL development on the mainframe
- Knowledge of relational databases in the role of application developer, especially DB2
- Experience with job scheduling and JCL on the mainframe
- Fluent in written and spoken English and German (EFR B2/C1)
What would be great to have
- Knowledge of the credit card business, especially acquiring
- Knowledge of SEPA payments and the used formats
