What does a successful Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer do at Fiserv?
You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and operating container services platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. Your focus will be on seamless integration with other tools through robust Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.
What you will do:
- Architect, implement, and operate container services platforms, emphasizing integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Leverage automation to enhance efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
- Meticulously assess risks while ensuring task efficiency.
- Analyze, diagnose, replicate, and resolve technical issues reported by customers using Fiserv PaaS and CaaS platforms.
- Develop maintainable, reusable software from a consumer-centric perspective.
- Take ownership of unresolved issues, seeking in-depth knowledge for timely resolution.
- Manage and maintain support requests from business unit customers and collaborate with other engineering groups to triage customer and business unit issues.
- Contribute to building and peer-reviewing knowledge base articles and product documentation.
What you will need to have:
- 5+ years of firsthand experience building and maintaining Container Platforms (e.g., PAS/TAS, PKS/TKGI, GKE, IBM Redhat OpenShift, ARO, ROSA).
- 5+ years of experience in deploying and supporting Kubernetes on at least one public IAAS provider (Azure, Amazon, GCP, Alibaba).
- 5+ years of experience with networking - including TCP/IP, subnetting, socket vs. connect timeouts, routing, and DNS.
- 5+ years of experience with designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code APIs using tools like Swagger.
- 5+ years of experience in programming/scripting languages (with a preference for Go, Ansible, Terraform, and Python) and 5+ years of experience with distributed systems (Windows and Linux) and virtualization software (VMware).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience.
What would be great to have:
- Experience with NSX, NSX-T, and Panorama.
- Familiarity with Vsphere7 and TKG.
- On-call experience.
- Solid understanding of virtual computing environments, including Hypervisors and load balancing concepts and familiarity with Identity Management, Access Management, and Certificate Management.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, with firsthand experience in Automation/Continuous Integration using tools like Jenkins, Harness, RunDeck, GitLab, and GitHub.
