Position Summary:
The Field Service Specialist – Wheel Service will be responsible for managing all aspects of the field service team for wheel service products including A/C and other products as assigned, to support the continued growth of those sectors in the automotive and heavy duty service equipment business unit. Reporting to and working with the Service Operations Manager- Wheel Service, the Wheel Service Field Specialist will help plan and implement programs and initiatives to ensure our end user customers, channel partners, and internal customers receive the best possible support from our service network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically prepare for current and future business requirements by communicating with all stakeholders on business service level needs.
- Work with the ServAll team to ensure service coverage for our national account partners who utilize our service programs.
- Work closely with Regional Managers to ensure the service expectations of our end user customers, sales team and channel partners is met or exceeded. Assist with recruiting, onboarding and training of new service providers in the US and Canada.
- Manage the service provider relationship including but not limited to insurance certificates, labor rates, training requirements, and parts inventory levels. Encourage service providers to meet all requirements to achieve service excellence.
- Keep abreast of the competitive landscape including competitive and industry standards and make recommendations for adjustments to policies and procedures as required. Keep on file and periodically update the Service Provider Policy and Procedure manual.
- Work with third parties to promote programs that help establish VSG as a leader in the industry and promote our products, such as the Automotive Lift Institute, ASE certification, and EPA 609 certification and business partners. Investigate opportunities that exist under the Dover umbrella to benchmark and share resources with other service teams.
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) on all VSG equipment in assigned wheel service product lines for installation, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and deliver training content for the sales and service team via Rotary University, Live hands on classes as well as online classes and presentations. Represent VSG as needed at training events, trade shows and channel partner events and meetings. Be prepared to travel as needed to fulfil this responsibility.
- Assist with equipment issues in the field both remotely and in person as schedule allows and need arises
- Achieve or maintain ASE certification in Steering & Suspension
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Ten + years of directly related experience in the automotive equipment field,
- Will consider education in lieu of direct experience
- A demonstrated above average understanding of related automotive principles in the area of tire changers, wheel balancers, wheel alignment and A/C service,
- Direct experience as a field service technician,
- Experience with an instructor with an above average understanding of lift inspection protocols.
- Experience dealing with a wide variety of people from technicians to executives,
- Ability to influence without direct authority,
- Experience working with independent contractors,
- Experience with the following systems is a plus:
- Salesforce
- Remote hosting tools such as GoToWebinar and Teams
- Video editing software
- Orcale
- MS office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
This position will work remotely and requires a self-starter attitude. Ability to work with limited daily instructions is a must.

Work Arrangement : Remote
Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
