What does a successful Risk Application Support Associate do?
You play a critical role in the daily operations of the Risk Application Operations support group within Card Services. You support the detection and resolution of issues across various Risk services platforms and applications, such as Falcon, Rule Manager, Feedzai, and Risk Gateway. Your responsibilities also include managing UNIX/Linux clusters, Web Services, coherence cache farms, and batch jobs. Collaborating with a global team, handling on-call escalations, and ensuring seamless service continuity are crucial to maintaining our high-performance culture.
What you will do:
- Provide UNIX/Linux expertise with hands-on Java application support and production/technical assistance for escalated issues.
- Participate in 24x7 support of production applications on a rotating basis and in incident resolution calls to address escalated issues and maintain uninterrupted services and meeting SLAs.
- Create application monitoring scripts and automate alerts to notify technical and product teams of issues.
- Manage and automate configuration, continuous integration, static and dynamic code analysis/deployment, and application monitoring for quick turnarounds with minimal downtime.
- Perform code installations, monitor and validate successful implementation or fallback with development and Quality Control, and conduct postmortems to identify root causes (RCA).
- Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and application infrastructure scaling. Perform trending and analysis of issues; anticipate problems and develop risk mitigation plans for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Change Management/Release Managers to evaluate change events and plan production deployment items.
- Maintain and create technical support documentation and execute the Risk Disaster Recovery Plan.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and/or military experience.
- 5+ years of experience in application development, production support, DevOps.
- 5+ years proficiency in UNIX/Linux Java development support, shell scripting, Control-M Scheduler, Oracle/SQLServer, troubleshooting production applications.
- 5+ years of full life-cycle development experience in a technology-driven environment, preferably in financial services and/or banking.
- 5+ years of strong technical experience with Unix/Linux, Apache, WebLogic, or other application servers.
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle Golden Gate, NoSQL databases like Couchbase, Cassandra, MongoDB, or Coherence, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Extrahop.
- 5+ years of experience with automation tools like UIPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blueprism.
- ITIL certification demonstrating knowledge of production support best practices.
What would be great to have:

- Practical experience in system automation and infrastructure management.
- In-depth understanding of IT security protocols and troubleshooting.
