Caterpillar’s Law, Security & Public Policy Division (LSPP) is looking for a Paralegal to join the Compliance team. Successful candidates will be process driven, have an interest in legal compliance, be comfortable learning and supporting multiple subject areas, and be organized.
The candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with Compliance attorneys, and other Compliance paralegals and professionals both within and outside LSPP. The position will assist various Compliance attorneys with legal and regulatory tasks to support and protect the organization. The legal work will be under the direction of various attorneys.
What You Will Do:
- Work directly with Compliance team members to respond to requests from government agencies, including requesting and reviewing responsive documentation from business partners
- Maintain logs and training necessary to comply with regulatory requirements
- Open, manage, and close matters in accordance with company policies
- Conduct research on a variety of topics, including environmental, engine emissions, and product safety requirements
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders\
What You Have:

- Confidentiality: Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
- Document Management: Knowledge of document management; ability to categorize, integrate, update, document and distribute business information in a secure, effective way
- Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information
- Legal Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance
Top Candidates will also have:
- Experience using Microsoft Power Apps, including Power BI

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
