Role Overview:
The Director of Design & Projects (FRCM & Conversion) is responsible for leading the design and execution of Fixed Renovation Cycle Management(FRCM) and Conversion projects, including Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE)replacements, across Hilton’s global portfolio. This role ensures that all projects align with Hilton’s brand standards, design guidelines, and operational requirements. The Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and property teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and implement a global strategy for FRCM, Conversion and FFE replacement projects, ensuring alignment with Hilton’s brand standards and business objectives.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design and execution of FRCM projects, including renovations, refurbishments, and conversion builds.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define project priorities, budgets, and timelines.
Design and Project Management:
• Oversee the for overall design and construction (D&C) aspects for Hilton properties, ensuring consistency with brand standards and operational needs of FRCM refurbishment and Conversion projects in Greater China & Mongolia (GCM).
• Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from concept development to final installation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Review and approve design concepts, drawings, and specifications for FRCM, Conversion and FFE replacement projects.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and Hilton’s design guidelines.
• Prepare, present & participate in monthly Project Review Meetings & regular Design Reviews, periodic site reviews and review of mock-up guestrooms.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Hotel Owners, external vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure high-quality deliverables and cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Brand Management, Operations, Food and Beverage, Spa, Legal and Finance, to ensure project alignment with business goals.
• Act as the primary point of contact for property teams, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure success rollout of with F&B concepts (Brand F&B Development) and F&B Operations Teams for restaurant refurbishment and conversions at existing properties.
Budget and Cost Control:
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or brand standards.
• Monitor project expenditures and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and project management.
• Drive innovation in design and project delivery, ensuring Hilton remains a leader in hospitality design.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and mentor a team of design and project management professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members, ensuring continuous growth and skill enhancement.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience working in equivalent role at International Hotel Operator.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale FRCM, Conversion and FFE replacement projects in the hospitality or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of FFE specifications, design standards, and construction processes.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization.
• Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Design (e.g., NCIDQ, LEED).
• Familiarity with Hilton’s brand standards and design guidelines would be good addition.
