About the Role:

As a CBRE Union Engineer, you will be a part of a team of in-house technicians responsible for a site’s equipment maintenance, operations, repair, and

instrument calibration processes.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, monitoring, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

Perform in-house maintenance, operations, and repair of critical data center equipment. Working regular hours at a stationary data center campus.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore routine technical service and equipment.
Address major network problems impacting multiple business locations, major network elements, or site outages. Verify all documentation is accurate and maintained.
Maintain routine maintenance schedules, system configurations, technical reference materials, etc.
Participate in user training of system and application updates/enhancements. Create training documentation.

Write, review, and update Critical Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.

Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence). Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
Work within broad guidelines and policies.

Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Collateral duties include act as backup for shift monitoring duties, which will include night and weekend shifts when needed to cover for shift technicians vacation or absence.

What You'll Need:

Journeyman’s license and Membership in good standing with UA Local 393
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Experience with BMS and Control Systems
Familiarity and/or appreciation of the operational controls in a data center (Ability to follow detailed Methods of Procedure)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (will be communicating with clients)
Ability to work interdisciplinary with other trades
- Should any element of this Job Description conflict with the provisions of an applicable collective bargaining agreement, the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement will prevail.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Engineer position is $159,889.60 annually [or $76.87 per hour]. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
