Job Summary:
The Copywriter is a relentless and strategic creative who delivers collaborative, conceptual storytelling across a wide range of mediums and adapts messaging to suit any audience. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong understanding of the creative agency model and the full creative process, from ideation through execution. They bring omnichannel marketing experience and a proven track record of delivering best-in-class creative solutions.
The Copywriter works closely with creative, strategy, marketing and partner engagement teams, contributing original ideas, supporting execution and occasionally leading initiatives.
What You Will Do:
Strong grasp of Caterpillar’s brand voice and the ability to maintain consistent tone across all creative touchpoints.
Familiarity with standards and tone expected across copy mediums, including print, digital, social, web, etc.
Write and edit objective-aligned and engaging copy for landing pages, emails, social media, scripts (video/audio), presentations and pitches.
Strong knack for concepting new ideas that meet (exceed) client expectations and the rigorous standards of leadership.
Be capable and comfortable with sharing creative with others, including leadership, peers, and clients.
Translate complex and technical information into accessible and engaging content for diverse audiences.
Review and proofread all communications for accuracy, quality and consistency.
Develop engaging content in close partnership with designers and producers, ensuring seamless integration of narrative and visual elements across formats.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the creative process and partnership with account teams to ensure work aligns with briefs, scopes, timelines and deadlines.
Collaborate to help shape integrated content strategies for print, digital, social, video, photography and live events.
Manage multiple concurrent writing projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).
Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
Degree in a relevant field and experience in a creative role within an agency or in-house corporate environment or equivalent working experience
Proven track record of delivering original thinking in creative content across multiple channels.
Expertise in brand development and the ability to integrate brand voice across all creative outputs.
Demonstrated understanding in modern search dynamics and how content is discovered, summarized and surfaced by both search and generative AI engines to improve visibility and credibility.
Strong portfolio demonstrating originality, innovation, and multi-disciplinary thinking.
Expert level writing, editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Familiarity with the graphic design industry and professional creative practices.
Proficiency in project management tools and standard office software.
Ability to guide others under pressure and maintain quality across multiple projects.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling creative narratives.

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
