The Institutional Contracts Team is part of Retirement Strategies and primarily supports Pension Risk Transfer (PRT), Stable Value and Structured Settlements. Our services and work product help the businesses achieve their strategic goals through new sales, retention of in-force clients and expansion into new products and markets.
This role will support the businesses by drafting and reviewing complex group annuity contracts and related documents. The successful candidate may also support state form filings as needed.
The successful candidate is a strong leader who will drive results and collaborate with team members and business partners (product, law, compliance, risk and technology), to ensure products and services are provided to customers with the highest quality in a timely manner. 
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and currently requires your on-site presence in Newark, NJ three days per week or Scranton, PA two days per week. These days will be determined by the business supported. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific days you are expected to be on-site. 
What you can expect:
- Participating in pre-sale contract negotiations and drafting, issuing and reviewing complex contracts, amendments and other agreements in support of new and in-force business within established target dates.
- Preparing and filing contractual and supporting documents with state Departments of Insurance within established target dates.
- Collaborating with business partners on new form, template or product development.
- Addressing inquiries related to contract interpretation. 
- Performing ad hoc regulatory research.
- Providing technical guidance and training and possibly reviewing the work of junior associates.
- Reviewing and drafting procedures; improving processes where possible.
- Leading and/or participating in technology, document review, and amendment issuance projects.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
- 5+ years of experience drafting documents and/or addressing regulatory, risk and/or compliance related issues and/or experience with PRT or Stable Value.
- Strong relationship management, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
- Detail orientation with superior analytical and decision-making skills.
- A customer-obsessed approach towards business partners and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Willingness to be flexible with schedule during peak periods of high-volume work.
- Self-motivation and a proactive approach to work.
- Discretion to deal with confidential information. 
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing projects and deliverables within tight time frames. 
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and challenging environment.
It’d be a plus if you had:
- Knowledge of retirement products, defined benefit plans, separate accounts and/or state filings. 
- Advanced degree.
- Project management experience.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $107,300.00 to $166,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
