Job Description Summary
The candidate (she/he) will integrate a multi-disciplinary team that provides support to Turboprop Engines manufactured in GE Aviation Prague Facility (design, production, and maintenance organizations) and is a key contributor to maintaining a high standard of Safety and Quality of the product for both NPIs & fielded engines.
In this role, you will be part of material engineering laboratory team and be accountable for timely and quality execution of assigned tasks/projects to ensure customer satisfaction and product safety and compliance with technical requirements.
The individual impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team.
The role has moderate autonomy but requires operational judgment and ability to learn fast to be fully operational in Lab environment and contribute measurably to Lab metrics, quality insurance and readiness.

Role & Responsibility

Execute the metallurgical examination of assigned projects according to applicable standards to support business goals
Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis and Lead-time improvement opportunities
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of Lab operations. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
Collaboration with technical experts from cross-functional Engineering teams
Contributes towards group strategy/collaboration and ensures flawless work/communication for timely delivery of data / communication with internal/external customers
Qualification Requirements
A minimum of 5 years related material laboratory work experience (Aviation and Aerospace oriented is a must) or B.S or M.S. degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy
Operational / hands-on knowledge of materials laboratory equipment to execute metallurgical preparation and standard material test verification
Understand and apply technical requirements from specifications and engineering drawings that impact materials and processes.
Technical thinking and diligence in various tasks. Experience with manufacturing and quality systems. Methodic and pragmatic
Ability to communication and report in English and Czech
Able to work efficiently within an international team.
Adaptable to timely respond business needs and/or changing priorities

Prior experience and ability to operate SEM equipment independently
Strong oral and written communication skills
