Global Head of Field, Support & Startup Services

KBR’s Sustainable Technology division is seeking a technically strong and business-minded Sub Product Service Line (PSL) Leader to grow and manage our Field, Technical Support, and Startup Services offering within the Asset Performance service line. This role will be responsible for delivering high-impact services to our technology licensees and customers, supporting both install base and grassroots projects. This includes field troubleshooting, commissioning and startup, turnaround, operations readiness, and general technical enquiries. The successful candidate will provide discipline-specific subject matter expertise, and drive strategic growth, and play a key role in ensuring customer success during critical phases of plant lifecycle operations. They will report to the Asset Performance Director, and be supported by the Asset Performance Managers, and Sales to build the pipeline of opportunities.
The Global Head of Field, Support & Startup Services will support our customers to resolve critical plant issues, accelerate time to peak performance, minimize disruption to production, derisk startup and operations. They will actively support with building a pipeline of opportunities and contributing to business development efforts. The role requires the ability to travel to customer sites and KBR offices as needed.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Development & Growth
- Define and grow the Field, Support, and Startup Services offering to meet evolving customer needs.
- Develop service packages that support commissioning, startup, and turnaround events.
- Ensure readiness and responsiveness to customer technical enquiries and field troubleshooting support needs.
- Collaborate with the Asset Performance Manager and Sales to identify new opportunities, establish service agreements and maximize revenue producing potential from each agreement
- Technical Leadership & Delivery Excellence
- Provide subject matter expertise in field services, startup, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Oversee the development of operations, training, startup deliverables
- Ensure high-quality, consistent delivery of services across global customer engagements.
- Lead offering development, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- P&L Management
- Support financial performance management for the sub-product line, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
- Monitor KPIs such as utilization, margins, overhead, and delivery efficiency.
- Balance execution support across global offices and technical resources in collaboration with the Operations team
- Customer Engagement & Strategic Support
- Act as the primary management interface for field, technical support, and startup services.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term value realization through responsive, efficient, and reliable service.
- Engage with customers to understand operational goals, and challenges with a view to introducing KBR solutions
- Support strategic reviews and technical discussions with customer stakeholders.
- Team Development & Collaboration
- Attract, develop, and retain technical talent aligned with global service line needs.
- Work closely with regional sales, engineering, and technology PSL teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Promote a culture of safety, ethics, and operational excellence.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Ability to work in cross-functional and multi-cultural environments
- Must have the ability to clearly convey technical concepts, business models in both verbal and written communications to clients, peers and KBR management.
- 15+ years of experience in field services, commissioning/startup, operations readiness, or related technical support roles in the energy or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record in business development and service line growth.
- Experience managing P&L and operational performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of field services, plant startup, turnaround planning, and operator training best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer engagement skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline); advanced degree preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites and internal meetings as required.
Preferred Education & Skills:
- Familiarity with process technologies and licensing models.
- Experience supporting operating assets, grassroots and brownfield projects.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into strategic business value.
Travel:
- Travel to clients/stakeholders site/offices periodically as well as conference attendance (both domestic and internationally). Must be willing and available for 25-50% domestic and international travel
