Role Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Engineer – Mechanical Analysis to join our team in a hybrid capacity. This role will be responsible for performing mechanical analysis for new technology development programs, working across multiple teams, and leading the program within their domain. This position is critical to achieving program KPIs and advancing GE Aerospace’s technology leadership.
- Evaluate strength and durability of structural and rotating engine components using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
- Conduct stress and life analyses to support engine certifications, qualifications, design optimization, failure investigations, and test capability assessments of engine hardware, with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Provide hands-on mentoring to junior engineers, fostering technical growth and team development.
- Solve engineering problems by leveraging prior experience and on-the-job training to deliver innovative solutions.
- Implement plans to meet technical requirements, schedules, and contract commitments effectively.
- Monitor and communicate project status clearly, addressing issues and highlighting significant developments to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical analysis and strength of materials, as well as a passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge. They excel in collaborative environments, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, and are adept at leading projects and communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders to drive technical excellence and achieve program goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduated from Mechanical, Aeronautical or Metallurgical Engineering Departments of universities, post graduate degree is a plus
- Have strong engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, theory of elasticity and numerical methods
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- At least 6 years of experience hands-on finite element analysis using ANSYS or other commercial FEA software (ABAQUS, Optistruct, Nastran, Patran etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD (Unigraphics or other commercial CAD software)
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in mechanical analysis and strength of materials, fatigue calculation of metals particularly in aerospace applications.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as finite element analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and CAD software.
- Strong project leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and delivering results.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Basic scripting skills and hands-on experience in tools development to support engineering analysis and process automation
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace engineering.
