Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Quality Engineer to join our Vertical Lift Quality team in Ridley Park, PA
The successful candidate for this job will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment supporting Program and Product quality issues that require strong communication and collaboration skills. The candidate will work closely with multiple functions including Material Review Board (MRB), Product Review Engineers, Quality specialists, Supplier Quality representatives, and other engineering and quality disciplines to identify and validate Boeing's quality requirements. Candidates should have data analysis skills, a foundational understanding of the Quality Management System (QMS), the ability to utilize quality tools & processes to determine Root Cause and Corrective Action, and a general understanding of the build process to participate in Non-Conformance Reviews and other process improvement opportunities.
This position supports a fast-faced production facility, with operations on both 1st and 2nd shift.
Initial training and work shifts may primarily be on 1st shift but will require the ability to work both 1st and 2nd shift when needed.
Position Responsibilities:
Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
Develop quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Recommend corrective actions to address non-conformances.
Performs QMS Audits
Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
Works under general direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
More than 3 years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and failure analysis
More than 1 year of experience in aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
Experience in team and group facilitation
Experience performing Quality Audits to the AS9100
Six Sigma certification

Summary pay range: USD 94,350 - 127,650
