Boeing is seeking aMission Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) in Chantilly, VA.
Position responsibilities:
Member of the Mission Engineering team for a customer satellite constellation.
Support special projects and taskers.
Support space vehicle and ground system anomaly and problem resolution processes.
Technical review, assessment, and reporting of engineering changes
Assess technical status of critical Mission Engineering activities and milestones to program and customer management.
Perform quality control checks across Mission Engineering, ensuring necessary processes and procedures are in place.
Create and implement Process Improvements
Interface with external engineering organizations, working shared requirements and integration projects.
Qualify as one or both of the following roles:
Operations Support Systems Engineering (OSSE) Responsibilities:
Works with development teams to test & validate system performance, train operators on new functionality in test environments, update procedures accordingly, and manage interfaces with other ground and communications systems
Flows requirements and operational constraints back into each development cycle at the ground system factories
Maintains a scripting competency in order to develop and maintain automation, analysis, and visualization software that runs on top of or in conjunction with the delivered ground systems
Analyzes systems data and performs predictive analysis to prevent anomalies and optimize ground system performance
Supports real-time anomaly resolution for ground and communication systems.
Vehicle Engineering (VE) Responsibilities:
Works in close collaboration with spacecraft development factory teams to analyze telemetry data
Performs predictive analysis to prevent anomalies, optimize mission, and recommend new vehicle configurations in support of customer objectives
May also qualify in astrodynamics and work as an Orbit Analyst to plan and execute spacecraft maneuvers
Supports anomaly resolution and root cause analysis for all spacecraft anomalies across the customer constellations
Provides Operations requirements back into development programs to influence the next generations of operational systems
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Experience with ground terminal or command & control software and hardware for spacecraft constellations and/or experience as spacecraft systems engineer
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience using Python or other scripting languages to automate processes, analyze data, or display data

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for associate (level 2): $87,550 - $118,450
Summary pay range for mid-level (level 3): $104,550 - $141,450
