Manager – Software Engineering
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Software Development Manager to join our ROCI Engineering team. If you have experience engineering scalable, cloud based, web applications, are excited about impacting millions of users, look no further!
You will specialize in building and scaling high-performance applications for the ingestion and mapping of cable infrastructure data—from design tools, configuration systems, and live telemetry—into a Neo4j graph architecture built via Databricks and Unity Catalog. We practice Agile/Scrum methodology and develop a variety of products and services built with a diverse set of technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
- Oversees the planning and designing of software and web applications, including new programs, improvements and modifications.
- Provides mentorship to Software/Product Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between Software/Product Engineering and other teams.
- Advises implementation initiatives for new software products and applications. Organizes software update process for existing applications and coordinates the roll-out of software releases.
- Manages all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets. Implements performance metrics and prepares periodic reports. Monitors and tracks project progress and reports findings to leadership team.
- Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
- Develops proposals, hardware/software changes and other capital expenditure projects.
- Manages professional and non-exempt employees, conducting work performance reviews and ensures work performance is adhering to Company standards. Mentors, trains, and develops staff.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital
- Co-orindation with Offshore counter parts and engineering managers to build delivery strategy
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 8+ Years of Software/Engineering overall industry experience
- 3+ years experience in people manager role
