Roles and Responsibilities: -
Design & Development
- Lead and execute the design of custom refrigeration rack systems, ensuring compliance with HVAC system requirements and performance standards.
- Develop detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for sheet metal and weldment assemblies.
- Select and integrate refrigeration and HVAC components (compressors, condensers, piping, valves, etc.) based on system performance criteria.
- Ensure design robustness through simulation, structural validation, and functional testing.
Engineering Excellence
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Conduct DFMEA and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Validate designs through FEA simulation and technical reviews.
Job & Schedule Management
- Manage engineering job schedules, prioritize design tasks, and allocate workload across the team.
- Track project milestones to ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and technical accuracy.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and production issues.
- Serve as the key contact for addressing technical queries from customers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage drawing creation, approval, and release through EPDM/ENOVIA systems, ensuring version control and traceability.
Process & Standards
- Define and implement engineering standards, drafting templates, and GD&T practices (ASME Y14.5).
- Conduct design and peer reviews to ensure high-quality design deliverables.
- Drive standardization initiatives across product lines and custom jobs.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Lead and mentor engineers in refrigeration and HVAC product design, engineering best practices, and project management.
- Conduct skill development sessions to build team competency in design tools, standards, and problem-solving.
Problem Solving & Communication
- Utilize structured problem-solving methods (A3, Fishbone, 5 Why) for root cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Communicate effectively with global teams and customers to ensure requirement clarity and technical alignment.
- Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to improve system performance and cost competitiveness.
