Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer 2026 AI/ML Engineer Intern. In this role you will join the Space AI Innovation R&D team, contributing to Agile software development, creating software validation tests, and implementing AI capabilities. In this role, you will support an AI/ML R&D team called Space AI Innovation doing Agile software development, generating software validation tests, and implementing AI capabilities. The successful candidate will have experience and/or solid knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java), software design principles, and end to end software development and implementation.
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in a software, engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language: C/C++, Java, Python, Go, Rust, Ruby
Desired Skills:• Familiarity with modern software development concepts such as CI/CD, Micro-Service Oriented Architectures, Containerization, Infrastructure as Code, Agile Development
• Knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards, unit testing and configuration management, database and System administration.
• Familiarity with one or more of the AI disciplines (e.g. Natural Language Processing, Anomaly Detection, Machine Learning, Predictive Modeling, LLM, etc.)

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
