Program Summary
KBR’s Pricing Department is responsible for producing compelling price proposals, impactful financial analysis and proposal strategy recommendations to our internal customers. KBR is making investments in the Pricing Department to increase our capability to prosecute a larger proposal pipeline in the years ahead and increase our win rates. At the same time, the company is looking for new ways to optimize our use of resources and staff expertise while continuing to provide employees with career growth opportunities.
Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Senior Pricing Director to lead our proposal pricing efforts in our the Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) business segment. This position will report directly to KBR’s Vice President for Strategic Pricing while coordinating closely with the Segment Executive Vice President, business unit senior leadership and business development leaders.
The R&S Senior Pricing Director will work closely with Pricing Department leaders to establish common practices, deliverables, systems and tools to maximize efficiency and the effectiveness of our department’s work. The Senior Pricing Director will help to develop and implement pricing strategies that improve KBR’s probability of win (PWin) for individual opportunities and broader business development campaigns.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy and maintain a new Cost Estimating System Manual (CESM) for R&S.
- Liaise with the Segment Executive Vice President and senior business development leaders to develop consistent and impactful proposal pricing reviews, associated financial analysis and pricing development processes that can be used across R&S.
- Evaluate current pricing tools and templates. Establish a common set of tools and templates that will increase productivity and flexibility of the staff.
- Collaborate with business unit pricing leaders to optimize the use of the pool of R&S Pricing Analysts. Identify opportunities for staff members to expand their skills and exposure to new customers, KBR offerings and contract types.
- Conduct ongoing needs analysis to ensure the existing staff has necessary training and identify emerging needs for additional capacity or capability on the team.
- Advise on pricing strategies and techniques that will help to maximize KBR’s PWin while achieving desirable financial performance in execution.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience creating a Cost Estimating System Manual
- Ability to gain consensus among senior leaders stemming from recommendations for organizational changes, process changes or individual proposal strategies and tactics
- Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a diverse team to achieve goals
- Exposure to a broad range of Government customer proposal requirements and company product and service offerings
- Deep understanding of different contract types including FFP, FPAF, FPIF, CPFF, CPAF, CPIF and T&M
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated history of implementing changes within a pricing organization to improve operations and increase the effectiveness of the staff and service offerings
- Experience managing staff during a time of business transition (acquisition, mergers, re-organization); Demonstrated ability to achieve business transition milestones while preserving morale among staff members
