As a FedEx Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of packages and shipments to customers. You will be responsible for operating a delivery vehicle, adhering to assigned routes, and delivering packages with professionalism and efficiency. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a delivery vehicle (such as a van or truck) to transport packages and shipments to assigned destinations within designated time frames.
Plan and organize delivery routes to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
Verify package details and delivery instructions, including addresses and special handling requirements.
Scan and track packages using electronic handheld devices or other tracking systems to ensure accurate delivery records.
Interact professionally and courteously with customers, providing prompt and reliable service while addressing inquiries or concerns.
Collect and process payment, if required, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe and proper operation.
Follow all traffic laws, road regulations, and safety protocols to minimize accidents and maintain a clean driving record.
Adhere to FedEx policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding customer information.
Collaborate with dispatchers and supervisors to resolve delivery issues, reroute packages, or address customer complaints.
Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance overall delivery operations.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass an entry drug test.
- Proven experience in professional driving, preferably in a delivery or courier capacity.
- UBER, LYFT, DOOR DASH do not constitute as delivery experience. Please do not apply, if this is your only delivery experience.
- Strong knowledge of local streets, roads, and traffic regulations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic tracking systems.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility and time management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or routes.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
