An audit manager is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audits to ensure a company's compliance and efficiency. Key duties include supervising audit teams, reviewing financial records, identifying risks and control weaknesses, and providing recommendations for corrective actions to management.
Core responsibilities
Audit planning and execution: Develop audit plans, set objectives, and manage the audit process from start to finish to ensure it is completed on time and within scope.
Financial analysis: Analyze financial data, records, and statements to ensure accuracy, detect errors, and prepare audit reports.
Risk assessment: Identify and evaluate risks across various business areas to help mitigate them through strong internal controls.
Reporting and recommendations: Document audit findings, communicate them to management, and provide clear recommendations for corrective measures and improvements.
Team leadership and training: Supervise, mentor, and train audit staff, and assist in hiring new team members.
Compliance and controls: Ensure the company adheres to internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory standards.
Collaboration: Work with other departments, external auditors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Process improvement: Continuously improve audit methodologies and internal control processes.
