Job Summary:
As the REPS (Retail Electric Power Solutions) Manager Engineering, you will be responsible for the engineering managing and providing technical leadership towards new product development for Retail Electric Power Solutions. You will lead a team comprising electrical and mechanical engineers and be responsible for the design and development of key electrical and mechanical components of Diesel/Gas gensets. You will also partner with NPI leadership towards process improvements and implementation of the same.
What You Will Do:
Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineers in the team; motivating and developing team members.
Providing engineering technical support, guidance and mentoring to team members.
Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan, product quality and product cost.
Maintaining product release plans and material plans; driving programs to completion on time and within budget.
Collaborating with peers and engineering leaders towards engineering strategy execution.
What You Have:
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Working knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Effective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Problem Solving: Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Managing People: Working knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Project Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Product Design and Development: Extensive experience and knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
