Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Product Security Engineering (PSE) is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our leadership team in Seattle, WA as the Engineering Lifecycle Manager for 777 product development and customer introductions. You will be assigned to the Senior Manager of BCA PSE Lifecyle, 777 and Legacy Programs. As part of the BCA PSE Leadership team, you will be deployed and directly accountable to program and project leadership teams for the successful integration, planning, and execution of PSE for 777X development and customer introductory programs that ensures Engineering Excellence and first-time quality. You will be responsible for organizing and executing innovative development projects, supporting Product Security needs of our engineers and products. This Product Security Engineering Manager position is located in Seattle, WA. The selected candidate will contribute to and execute upon our shared PSE vision and priorities for the delivery of safe, secure, and resilient commercial airplanes’ products and the aviation ecosystem. This is accomplished through the successful planning of integration of PSE and the deployment of a committed PSE workforce that delivers engineering excellence on behalf of the program.
Your responsibilities and priorities in this role will include:
Primary responsibilities:
- Represent Product Security Engineering and all responsibilities to the Airplane Program and project leadership team
- Assign lead engineers, and integrated teams that are accountable to you for delivering Engineering Excellence to your programs and commitments
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manage and direct engineers and analysts in developing, implementing, and sustaining product security and resiliency throughout product requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle
- Active stakeholder and voting member on system, engineering and program level change boards
- Actively participate as a stakeholder and decision maker in program Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) and Safety Management Systems
- Define, implement, and execute Incident Response and Vulnerability Management (IRVM) activities for programs and projects that are aligned and accountable to the PSE Risk Management capability
- Define, implement, and execute Cyber Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) activities for programs and projects
- Participate in all planning and development of estimates for PSE efforts, ensuring that PSE is accounted for and integrated within program plans and schedules
- Establish approved Long-Range People Plans (LRPP) that establish clear staffing projections and resourcing strategies that meet those commitments
- Informing the hiring, development, and retention of PSE with BCA PSE Skills Teams to meet objectives
This critical leadership position will leverage and benefit from experiences in:
- Airplane programs and products
- Applying Product Security Engineering standards and methods to products, inform secure and resilient product, and resulting compliance / certification outcomes
- Planning, executing, and leading the execution of a multi-discipline engineering related activity in a team environment
- Working with, and within commercial and/or defense cybersecurity regulations and guidelines
- Developing and delivering technical solutions for products and systems
- Strategic and program level planning and leadership
- Organization of and leading execution of engineering teams
- Attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining talent
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelors degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry; or an equivalent combination of technical education and 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering projects.
- Experience factoring and applying confidentiality, integrity, and availability considerations in all phases of the system development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Risk, Issue, Opportunity (RIO) Management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Master’s Degree or higher from a course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
- 2+ years of experience managing managers.
- Current Security+ (Sec+) certification or other current DoD 8570/8140 Approved Baseline Certification OR willing and have the ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ Pre-Start (i.e. successful completion of a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification)
- 4+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
- 3+ years of experience leading multiple parallel development schedules; managing complex integrated schedules or projects.
- 1+ year of experience in cyber security.
- Strategic planning and action taking, with proven experience influencing leadership, partners, and other groups.
- Leading and supporting program planning and execution.
- Establishing and adapting organizations.
- Attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
- Planning, executing, and leading the execution of multi-discipline engineering related activities in team environments.
- Understanding and experience in systems and/or software engineering, including Development of Architecture, Requirements, Concepts of Operations, and Use Cases, Development of Hardware and Software products, Integration and Unit Test, Verification and Validation, Testing, including Acceptance and Fielding Tests.
- Demonstrated history of performance in systems or software engineering and leadership and operating throughout the course of the engineering or operations lifecycle.
- Highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with external customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and multi-discipline program and environment.
- Experience with model-based engineering.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $165,750 - $224,250
