This position will be located in Hazelwood, MO. or Fort Walton Beach, Fl. This position will be 100% on site in either one of these locations.
We are seeking a skilled Visual Media Designer to conceptualize, create, and modify detailed illustrations, full-color animations, graphics, and interactive electronic media in support of aerospace engineering products and services. The ideal candidate will conduct research and analyze source data to inform high-quality visual content, establish and maintain illustration and graphics development standards, processes, and procedures, and ensure all assets are organized and accessible. This role requires ensuring compliance with applicable technical standards and specifications, collaborating with engineering and product teams, and continuously investigating emerging technologies, tools, and techniques to advance our visual communication capabilities. This role requires strong leadership competency with abilities to lead people and projects from the acquisition phase through execution closure.
Position Responsibilities:
- Creates basic & advanced isometric, orthographic, axonometric, and perspective illustrations, wiring diagrams, and schematics for technical data products.
- Gathers, synthesizes, and accurately interprets engineering data to support creation of technical data products. Integrates text and illustrations. Interfaces with customers for basic clarification of input.

- Researches existing illustrations/graphics to create or revise technical illustration products.
- Produces deliverables with first time quality
- Performs quality reviews for junior illustrators on the team
- Adds metadata information to files to enable efficient retrieval of stored illustrations.
- Applies regulatory or organizational standards and specifications to produce illustrations for technical publications.
- Participates on internal departmental teams to develop or revise existing standards, processes and procedures.
- Ensures company products continue to meet applicable internal and/or industry standards.
- Participates in the investigation of emerging technologies and contributes to the development of new illustration tools, techniques and processes.
- Participates in the assembly of technical data products for final delivery.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Technical Illustrating / Drafting
- Minimum of 5 years' experience using CAD Software
- Associates Degree Required (Drafting or equivalent preferred)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with military or Department of Defense customers
- Experience with aerospace drafting or equivalent work scope
- Bachelors Degree Required (Drafting or equivalent preferred)

Experienced-Level Summary Pay Range: $79,050 to $106,950
