DG BOSS: Massage Therapist (FN) (Open)
The Massage Therapist provides professional massage therapy services to promote health, relaxation, and overall well-being. This position supports the Navy Fitness Program and contributes to the quality of life for personnel by delivering effective therapeutic sessions in a professional and welcoming environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide massage therapy services in the Physical Readiness Center in accordance with CNICINST 1710.3 and applicable guidelines.
- Deliver one-hour massage sessions (e.g., Swedish, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy) with a maximum of six sessions per day.
- Manage client scheduling, maintain accurate customer records, and collect/account for service fees.
- Ensure the massage area is clean, safe, and provides a relaxing atmosphere.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, customer service, and confidentiality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency in multiple massage modalities such as Swedish, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, and Aromatherapy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be professional, neat, and well-groomed at all times.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Must pass overseas medical screening and maintain good overall health.
Preferred Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- Certified Massage Therapist (LMT) license required.
- Must obtain certification in Massage Therapy.
- Required training provided by MWR:
- Adult First Aid/CPR/AED (American Red Cross)
- Customer Service Training: Creating Stellar Customer Relations
EDUCATION:
- Must be at least a High school, Technical, or Vocational course graduate.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of six months of professional massage therapy experience.
