Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role:
Responsible for the execution/develop of manufacturing controls. Work will be performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.
What You'll Do ( Responsibilities):
• New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
• Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement
• Maintaining awareness of new controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision)
of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
• Managing deliveries to program timing milestones
• Providing project report outs to senior management
• Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
• Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.
• Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
• Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience or training
- Controls experience in manufacturing environment (Controls Engineer)
- PLC experience with ladder logic, and hardware design (Controls Engineer)
Preferred Skills
- 3+ years experience in manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of PLC work experience (Controls Engineer)
- Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley
- Mechatronics degree or training a benefit
