Role Definition
Leads, manages and coordinates all activities for a team developing a product, component or system.
Responsibilities
• Provides technical support, and direction to teams and team leaders in BI Area that includes Tableau / Power Bi / Thoughtspot. Acquires resources necessary to accomplish work on time.
• Oversees performance of individual team members and team as a whole. Identifies and addresses staff training and development needs in BI Area that includes Tableau / Power Bi / Thoughtspot
• Coordinates walkthroughs and reviews; ensures conformance to standards and adherence to design specifications.
• Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Monitors and troubleshoots performance and schedule issues.

Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
 Level Working Knowledge: 
• Obtains information about product and service linkages with other products and services elsewhere in organization.
• Researches the target market and how the product and services are sold and delivered.
• Explains current status, delivery alternatives and announced updates to products and services.
• Summarizes key features of major products or services in own unit.
• Assesses own unit's product alternatives, costs, and pricing.

 Level Extensive Experience: 
• Employs various group decision-making methods depending on the situation.
• Promotes efficacy through monitoring, coaching & motivating subordinates, intervention, etc.
• Translates vision into specific functional or departmental initiatives.
• Uses emotional contagion to affect the mood of group members, tone of group and group processes.
• Uses a normative decision model (with leadership styles and situational variables) to select style.
• Initiates structure: role clarification, setting standards, holding subordinates accountable, etc.
Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools in BI Area that includes Tableau / Power Bi / Thoughtspot and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements in BI Area that includes Tableau / Power Bi / Thoughtspot
 Level Expert: 
• Oversees the evaluation and selection of developer's workbench and tool-kits.
• Contributes to the development of best practices.
• Monitors industry benchmarks for effectiveness of development; makes recommendations.
• Introduces new software product development approaches that expedite or simplify delivery.
• Demonstrates significant experience in building complex software products or systems.
• Discusses process and criteria for determining best development process and tools.
Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace in BI Area that includes Tableau / Power Bi / Thoughtspot
 Level Extensive Experience: 
• Explains how to use multiple, vendor-provided or in-house structured methodologies.
• Describes tasks, tools and practices for converting software product requirements into a design.
• Demonstrates experience with all phases and deliverables of the product development methodology.
• Implements the generic functions, features and facilities of modern structured methods.
• Explores and evaluates major structured methodologies available in the marketplace.
• Consults on effective application of structured product development methodologies.
