About your role:
Join the Clover AppMarket Team at Fiserv, a global leader dedicated to transforming financial services technology. As a Java Back-End Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software for the Clover AppMarket, which powers a thriving ecosystem of third-party apps for our merchants. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that directly impact our business goals and client needs.
What you’ll do:
- Design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Write clean, efficient Java code—and test, debug, and optimize it to ensure top-tier performance.
- Work across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP to build and manage resilient services.
- Build and refine CI/CD pipelines, helping us release faster and with confidence.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases.

Experience you’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, and/or equivalent military experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience with server-side programming in Java (Java 8 or later).
- 2+ years of experience with MySQL and JDBC (experience with JPA/Hibernate is a plus).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience utilizing cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- 2+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices within an Agile environment.
- Proven experience developing REST web services and using client tools such as Postman and cURL.
- Proficiency with Git version control and Java test frameworks like JUnit or TestNG.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Prior experience in the financial services industry, specifically within Payments or Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
How you’ll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
- This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
