As a Product Manager for BNPL Payments, you'll be responsible for managing the suite of BNPL products and integrations that Clover provides to merchants, enabling them to offer flexible payment options to their customers. You'll play a pivotal role in expanding Clover's payment capabilities, allowing merchants to increase sales and customer satisfaction by adopting this rapidly growing buy now pay later payment method.
You'll be responsible for understanding the evolving landscape of BNPL providers, merchant needs, and consumer preferences. This includes creating product plans to integrate and optimize BNPL solutions within the Clover ecosystem, ensuring they are seamless for both merchants and their customers. You’ll have the opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing segments of the payments industry, helping to drive the development, integration into multiple BNPL providers and commercial launch of BNPL products, create compelling product marketing materials, educate various sales channels about new features, and contribute to the success of the product.
This role requires you to be technically conversant with payment integrations, APIs, and the underlying technology supporting BNPL solutions. You will work closely with third-party BNPL providers, and must be comfortable with the technical aspects of integration technologies. At the same time, you must have an ability to think strategically about how BNPL offerings relate to Clover’s overall business and market position. In addition, you must also understand the current landscape of payment industry players, including issuers, acquirers, processors, gateway providers, payment networks, and crucially, BNPL providers. Finally, you must possess well-honed communication skills, and be comfortable presenting to executives, customers, and partners.
What you will do:
Track payments industry trends, standards, and competition as they relate to Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solutions, merchant adoption, and consumer behavior.
Own the product strategy and roadmap for BNPL payment options at Clover.
Help build business cases for new BNPL products, services, and features.
Define detailed user stories and requirements for your BNPL products and services, focusing on merchant and consumer experience.
Collaborate with BNPL providers, engineering, quality assurance, operations and other stakeholders to define, deliver and maintain the roadmap for robust BNPL payment products.
Work with marketing staff to effectively package your BNPL products and create marketing collateral and other materials.
Train sales channels on your BNPL products and their value proposition for potential merchants.
Consult with merchants and partners to create combined solutions that effectively integrate BNPL into their operations.
Analyze merchant and consumer feedback to continually improve the BNPL experience on Clover, focusing on ease of use and conversion.
Define and track KPIs as they relate to merchant adoption, usage, and the overall success of your BNPL payment products.
What you need to have:
5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on payment technologies
Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or Business in related fields, MBA preferred
Experience with or deep understanding of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solutions and providers
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience creating and nurturing corporate partnerships, especially with payment providers
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical specifications to clients and implementation teams
Ability to clearly communicate product descriptions, value propositions, and roadmaps to business personnel
Capability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
Travel required:An ability to travel locally and internationally on occasion (10%)
