Boeing Defense, Space & Security is hiring for its P-8 Poseidon Program!
The P-8 Program, along with our suppliers, builds and delivers the safest, most sophisticated Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Anti-surface Warfare (ASuW), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) weapon system on the face of the earth. The P-8 Mission ties into the US National Defense Strategy by making the oceans and seas transparent.
There is currently an opportunity for a Technical Integration Systems Engineer within the P-8 Chief Engineer’s Office in Tukwila, WA. In this position you will work closely with the program chief engineer, engineering capabilities, program managers, contracts, finance, estimating, supply chain, operations and/or customers to execute the program. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
As a P-8A technical integration systems engineer, you will be responsible for interfacing with engineering teams across the program, customers, program and engineering leadership to drive the requirements development and change management process, support production and retrofit development, and champion integration and execution to provide technical leadership necessary to solve our complex technical challenges.
This is a high visibility role with technical assignments that directly support the P-8A program's top-level goals, initiatives, and challenges. This position offers the potential to broaden skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines, commodities, and business units.
The ideal candidate should be willing to stretch beyond their experience base and lead where process definition may not exist or is unclear. The candidate will be self-motivated, able to work under consultative direction, have excellent people skills, and have the ability to negotiate, build consensus, and deliver results. A quick learner that possesses the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts across multiple disciplines.
Primary Responsibilities:
Focus on the responsibility for the technical content, technical understanding of the design, at the system level, cross-functional team integration, review/approve/create technical data
Focal for technical communication with the US Navy
Find/Lead/Drive resolution to technical issues and concerns.
Work closely with the P8 technical community: engineering IPTs and their leadership team, Chief Engineer, SMEs, TLEs, BDEs, etc. to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
Work/team closely with program management (e.g. manage schedules, solve technical risks, provide technical performance status, monitor engineering cost impacts)
·Need to have good 1st hand knowledge of key technical hot topics/ program priorities
Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to defining technical plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities
Manage technical deliverables by monitoring and driving execution of baseline plans
Brief internal and external customers and their leadership team on program status, technical risks, challenges, and help needed.
Responsible for the technical plan for the project/program
Assess technical project performance
Capture and share lessons learned
Drive continuous improvement
Review and approve technical exports, help develop export plans, and help ensure program compliance with US Export law and policy
Leads and participates in technical and gate reviews and provides feedback to meet customer SOW
This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.
This role is 100% onsite.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
·Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
7+ years’ experience in aerospace industry with preference for experience working with defense and space contracts
5+ years of experience working on aircraft modification program, or new airplane program
5+ years’ of experience in Systems Engineering and/or Systems Integration
5+ years of experience establishing relationships and maintaining strong on-going communication with internal and external customers
Experience leading or managing technical projects and/or engineering teams and working across multiple engineering disciplines
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to learn technical engineering designs/concepts quickly
Proven experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts
Critical thinking, problem solving, change management, project management, influencing without authority, & consultation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
7 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience providing customer support to address concerns
Ability to take ownership / initiative, pull teams together, remove roadblocks
Experience with Military or Commercial Derivative Aircraft (P-8A aircraft in particular)
Experience presenting technical content to Boeing and customer leadership
Strong project/program management skills
Proactively communicate with various leadership team/s, peers and customers.
Experience working across multiple business units and/or complex organizations
Ability to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclear

Summary Pay Range:
Expert: $128,350 - $173,650
