Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Experienced Repair Station Mechanic to join our team in SeaTac, WA. Mechanics in this position perform spares stores rework assignments such as repairs to damaged aircraft parts and assemblies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with and assist engineering to develop and redesign parts and assemblies from raw materials. These employees develop work methods and parts layout with minimal engineering definition.
- Perform Composite and Metal Bond repairs per Production Specifications and Post Production Engineering Data (Component Maintenance Manual, Structural Repair Manuals, etc).
- Use engineering drawings, Service Bulletins, PSDS process specifications, Repair drawings, Wiring diagrams, Vendor manuals, planning orders and verbal instructions to accomplish rework/repair.
- Ensure that changes made to parts and assemblies conform to FAA (PC 700) and FAR 145 standards when procedures and specifications are not clearly defined.
- Disassemble components/assemblies to access area to be repaired or reworked.
- Order tools, parts and raw material needed to accomplish rework/repair of parts and assemblies. Fabricate detail parts from raw stock to meet repair or modification requirements.
- Perform any operations (e.g., wiring, painting, sealing, drilling, reaming, riveting, etc.) to accomplish repair/rework.
- Prepare, assemble and install tubing, standoffs, valves, regulators, compressors, and ducts using fasteners.
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify rework/repair meets specifications. Install, remove, replace, and/or re-route wires, wire bundles, and/or electrical assemblies.
- Perform functional tests on assemblies. Install pre-assembled plumbing systems such as hydraulic modules (e.g., smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and air, water and fuel systems)
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.
- Employment in this position requires lifting up to 35 lb., reaching, handling, turning/twisting, lifting/lowering, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting and crawling.
- Exposure to dust, metals, plastics, phenolics, composites, solvents, oils, cutting coolant and vapors. Use of personal safety gear for eyes, feet, hands and ears. Adhere to all Department of Transportation regulations (drug and alcohol testing required).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in composites repair
- Ability to lift up to 35 lb
- 2+ years of performing aircraft structural and mechanical work
- 2+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience working with or repairing carbon fiber composites
- A&P License or 8610 form (if prior military)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $31.32/hr - $59.47/hr
