Product Support
Job Description:
Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
Are you ready to help shape the future of mine sites around the world? Join Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Electrification Solutions team and be at the forefront of building a more sustainable world. As an Electrification Deployment Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in delivering cutting-edge energy transfer solutions that power the next generation of mining operations.
You’ll work directly with customers and dealers, collaborate across engineering, product development, and field teams, and help influence the design and deployment of cutting-edge solutions like Cat® Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET).
Your role goes beyond installation. You’ll be the driving force behind DET—developing smart procedures, designing specialized tooling, and crafting a comprehensive training strategy to ensure every deployment is safer, smoother, and more efficient. While the dealer team handles the hands-on work, you’ll lead the way—providing direction, support, and ensuring excellence at every stage.
Cat® Dynamic Energy Transfer is a fully Caterpillar-developed system that can transfer energy to both diesel-electric and battery-electric large mining trucks while they are working around a mine site. It can also charge a machine’s batteries while operating with increased speed on grade, improving operational efficiency and machine uptime.
What you will do:
Support customer needs and preferences as they relate to deployment of our solutions (such as safety, cost/value & velocity) to their mine sites.
Lead solution deployment planning with customers, dealers and the Cat Site Manager.
Lead the development of installation procedures, training and tooling that enable safe, efficient implementation at mine sites.
Audit customer site readiness.
Working with our proving grounds and mine site teams, document and communicate learnings and improvement opportunities.
Provide input based upon field experience in system, component and sub-system design reviews.
What skills you will have:
Technical Excellence: Strong technical background in product support, engineering, or field service. Experience with electrification, power systems, heavy equipment or mine site operations.
We’re looking for individuals who understand what it means to support a product in the field and ensure our customers get the most out of their equipment. You don’t need to know DET — we’ll teach you. What you do need is a strong foundation in product support: understanding customer needs, solving problems, and delivering value through service and expertise.
Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
Effective Communications: Strong communication and facilitation skills.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Top candidates will also have:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Experience with Caterpillar product development processes (APQP, PPRD, NPI, etc.).
