Leidos is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer in the Atlanta, GA area who is passionate about electric utility design engineering. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained. As a Senior Distribution Engineer, You can expect to:
- Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysis
- Review engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program work
- Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
- Interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
- Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
- Be comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role will require a local presence in the customer territory for customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages, as well as associated team collaboration and customer-related meetings
- Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projects

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):
- 8+ years of prior relevant experience is required. Relevant experience is either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric distribution. 
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Experience with engineering design quality control
- Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysis
- Frequent Customer-related travel is anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates), so valid US Driver's License is required
- Willingness to perform both field and office work; Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion
Preferred Qualifications: 
- Previous QAQC experience
- Experience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC
- Demonstrated history of Customer Interaction
- Proven experience and proficiency with STORMS software and GIS is preferred
- Prior Leadership experience is preferred

Pay Range:
Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
