Description:Function
Perform a variety of routine fluorescent inspection operations on non-ferrous parts and materials.
Typical Responsibilities
Follow prescribed inspection procedures, drawings, specifications, records, check sheets, and other oral or written instructions to set up and operate fluorescent inspection equipment for fluorescent inspection operations.
Check for material defects, cracks, cold shunts, micro-shrinkage, hot tears, corrosion and defects on machines and/or service incurred parts, castings, forgings, etc.
Determine acceptability of parts and materials in accordance with quality standards.
Grind and polish as required to de ermine extent of defect remaining, within dimensions limits.
Responsible for proper preparation of penetrant and developer solution, and correct functioning of
equipment.
Test parts for hardness, moving parts using hand truck when necessary, and perform other related inspection operations when required.
Perform operator checklist as required.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of equipment by performing operator required upkeep.
Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
Refer only unusual conditions to Working Leader or supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:Requires knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions, and ability to read ordinary drawings and use calipers and micrometers, etc.
Must be familiar with various types of metal detectable defect inspection systems. Requires minimum 2 years high school.
Requires short specialized training to acquire certification in fluorescent inspection.
3 to 6 months experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
