Aspetto is seeking an experienced and technically proficient System Analyst to support the Mobility Air Forces (MAF) Mission Planning Systems (MPS) Capability Drop-4 (CD-4) effort under Air Mobility Command (AMC). The System Analyst will perform operational and technical analysis of Air Force mission planning software systems to ensure that requirements are feasible, testable, and fully integrated with modernization and interoperability goals.
This role requires a candidate with hands-on experience in Joint Mission Planning Systems (JMPS) or other MAF mission planning applications, capable of supporting requirements analysis, system testing, and agile development processes within a complex DoD software environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed systems and operational analysis of mission planning software, ensuring functional, performance, and interoperability requirements are met.
- Support the development, refinement, and traceability of system requirements to mission and user needs.
- Participate in Agile software development processes, providing analytical inputs during sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical review events.
- Conduct technical and operational feasibility assessments to validate system enhancements and modernization efforts.
- Support the development and review of test plans, evaluation criteria, and fielding documentation for capability releases.
- Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, testers, and end-users to identify technical gaps and recommend solutions.
- Contribute to MAF system integration efforts, ensuring compatibility across JMPS, JOMS, NOMS, and MAFPS environments.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, data summaries, and briefings supporting AMC leadership and mission stakeholders.
- Provide analytical input to risk assessments, configuration management, and system lifecycle documentation.
- Leverage collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and Teams to track actions, manage documentation, and maintain situational awareness across development activities.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret clearance is required; SCI Eligibility is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related technical discipline; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification (required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis, systems engineering, or technical evaluation of defense software systems.
- Hands-on experience analyzing, supporting, or developing software using C# and C/C++.
- Direct experience with Air Force or Joint Mission Planning Systems (JMPS, JOMS, NOMS, PFPS, or MAFPS) and participation in software development, testing, or fielding activities.
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical analysis and provide recommendations supporting requirements definition, systems design, and integration.
- Experience supporting Agile or DevSecOps software development processes.
- Experience conducting feasibility studies, system performance evaluations, and operational assessments.
- Familiarity with requirements management and test management tools (JIRA, DOORS, Jama, or equivalent).
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong collaboration skills using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Preferred:
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent credential.
- Hands-on experience developing, testing, or sustaining mission planning applications or data products for the Air Force.
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools for performance and interoperability analysis.
