The Manager of Operational Excellence is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency and productivity by managing and improving existing processes within the organization. This role focuses on process engineering and governance, metrics management, and data analysis ensuring that operations align with organizational standards and goals. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage a dedicated team of professionals, and contribute to process improvement initiatives with an emphasis on execution and accountability.
This role is a hybrid position and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. Your work location will be Linoclnshire, IL. Zebra reserves the right to modify your work location based on business need.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Strategy Execution: Support the development and execution of the operational excellence strategy, aligning initiatives with organizational goals. Identify key process improvement areas and contribute to the implementation roadmap.
- Process Optimization: Assess current operational processes to identify opportunities for enhancement. Utilize Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies to optimize workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and improve productivity. Work with functional peers to improve and/or develop processes.
- Data Analytics: Manage the activities to gather, process, and interpret data, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to improve business operations.
- Change Management: Implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of process improvements. Engage stakeholders, communicate effectively, and provide necessary training and support to ensure successful transitions.
- Performance Management: Define, track, and analyze performance metrics and KPIs to measure operational efficiency. Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to support decision-making processes. Manage the creation and implementation of operational metrics reflecting process performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with leaders and teams across departments to ensure alignment of operational excellence initiatives with departmental objectives. Promote teamwork and collaboration to achieve shared goals.
- Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a team of operational excellence professionals. Provide guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Continuous Improvement Culture: Advocate for a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops to encourage employee engagement and a mindset focused on ongoing enhancement.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experince in utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize data and metrics for informed decision-making.
- Experience in Data Analysis and visualization using MS Excel, Power-BI and Smartsheet
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Management Experience: Proven ability to manage teams and drive change initiatives.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
Licenses, Certifications or Special Qualifications:
- Continuous improvement certifications. LSS Blackbelt or equivalent experience is preferred.

Salary: USD 106800.00 - USD 160200.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
